jan 7, 1932 - The Stimson Doctrine

Description:

A policy of nonrecognition to the states that had been taken over through use of force, such as Manchuria which was taken over by Japan. Implemented by the United States, because they felt that Manchuria shouldn’t be recognized as a puppet state, as stated in the Lytton Report later that year. The struggle between the US and Japan is starting to begin, as the US is trying to pressure Japan into withdrawing its expanded territory.
