The gentlemen’s agreement was an agreement made between Japan and the US. The agreement was to attempt to calm the tensions between the two nations over Japanese worker immigrants. Because of the agreement, Japan was furious towards the racial actions taking place in the united states towards Japanese. Their main reason for the agreement was to expand as the natural demography of japan hindered their ability to grow crops to feed their large population.
