king Charles is on the crown now wanting to get straight into the action Starting a war he wanted to fight Spain but Charles needed money to create his great army so he reopened parliament after his father James shutdown power Charles needed a steady amount of income coming into the economy A short summary of the conflict of 1626 Charles wants to start a war, Charles needs money, Charleston reopens parliament for money, Charles asks for a million pounds to fund his army on Spain, parliament says they will give £250,000 towards it, Charles says where's the rest of the money, parliament then say they will pay £750,000 if Charles gives parliament some more power, Charles realises as soon as he gives This power he will never be able to get it back, Charles declines that offer and realises that they wouldn't have the same for his father only doing it because he is a young king he hasn't shared any authority yet, after this parliament cuts down the deal, so then this leads to parliament being closed down again in 1629 after the forced loan dont work out. this is the start of the great conflict between the monarchy versus parliment
