apr 19, 1775 - Lexington and
Concord
Description:
In the middle of the night 700 British soldiers arrived at Lexington to seize the weapons that were being stashed there by the Revolutionaries. When they finally got close to town the British noticed 70 Minutemen (The Revolutionaries) standing in line. After a brief standoff between the two parties, where the British tried to get the Minutemen to lay down their arms, a single shot was fired which was quickly followed by many more. Nobody knows who shot first, but what we do know is that this was the official start of The Revolutionary War.
