jun 21, 1949 - The Avro Arrow
Description:
The Avro Arrow was an extremely advanced, supersonic, twin-engined, all-weather interceptor jet aircraft developed by A.V. Roe of Canada from 1949 until the government's controversial cancellation of the project in 1959. There were a multitude of reasons for the projects cancellation, but the most important one was cost. The USSR bombers were being replaced by missiles, so the Canadian government decided to replace these jets, that were meant to intercept bombers, with their own missiles
