jan 1, 1767 - Townshend Act

Description:

"Colonial protests and the pleading of British merchants convinced Parliament to do away with the Stamp Act by early 1766. Soon after, Parliament passed the Declaratory Act asserting that England had all power and authority to make laws that bound the colonies to the Crown of Great Britain. Shortly after passing the Declaratory Acts, Parliament passed the Townshend Act in 1767 that imposed duties on imports. "
