jan 1, 1917 - Zimmerman Telegram

Description:

A telegram sent from Germany to Mexico that suggested Mexico invade the US from the south. This would keep America fighting their own war and therefore would keep them from joining the allied forces in Europe. However, this telegram was intercepted and Mexico declined Germany's offer.
