Description:
- Lapita, Solomon Islands (Pacific Islands)
- Made by the Lapita Peoples
- Materials involved molded terra cotta (reddish-brown, unglazed)
- Depicted many different elaborate patterns and designs, often using anthropomorphic and geometric figures, lines, and circles
- Used the method known as dentate stamping in order to create most designs upon the clay
- Was most likely used simply as a pot with no other deep purpose
