may 27, 1787 - Constitutional Convention

Description:

This convention took place in Philadelphia and it drew up an American Constitution(amending the Articles of Confederation) due to economic issues the led to political movements such as Shays Rebellion, this called for a stronger central government. All states except Rhode Island attended this convention and of 77 chosen 55 took part in the convention and only 39 of these chosen men signed the Constitution. After this both the New Jersey and Virginia plans came to be from education politicians and this started debates on how the government should be run and the basis of what level of government should have the most power.
