Description:

As armed conflict continued between the British and the colonies the desire for independence grew. Later on during the summer a committee of five men including Thomas Jefferson, John Adams and Benjamin Franklin wrote a draft of the colonies intentions with the British. On July 4th, the colonies formally adopted the Declaration of Independence mainly written and developed by Jefferson.
