Description:

During a time period of many countries trying to lead the world in exploration it came down to the Spaniards and the Portuguese. Christopher Columbus was commissioned by the Spanish crown to explore the Western Hemisphere. Columbus originally landed in the Bahamas and immediately realized that the Native peoples could be forced into work and that they were all wearing precious jewels that the Spanish crown would pay him a multitude of money for. This began the start of people coming to the Americas and establishing a country.
