nov 18, 1878 - Alice Paul Arrested For Voting in New York
Description:
On November 1, 1878, Susan B. Anthony walked into a ballot station and demanded that they be registered to vote and argued with the man until he finally gave in. On November 5, Susan B. Anthony and a few other women casted their ballots, but on November 18 they were arrested for voting illegally. She went to court and was convicted of voting illegally and fined $100, a momentus court case for suffragists. It caused even more women to take action to get the rights that they deserved and more groups would be formed to do so.
