17h 8min, may 10, 1773 y - The Tea Act
Description:
The Tea Act was an act of Great Britain in order to impose a tax on tea and reduce the tea surplus of the British East India company. The Tea Act was part of the other taxes the British had put on the Colonists known as the Townshend acts. This Act gave British Merchants a very unfair advantage. The Colonists were angry about these acts and decided to protest against it. This was significant because it led to the Boston Tea Party which was a huge colonial protest against the Tea Act.
