The Battle of Horseshoe Bend forced the Creek Nation to give up their land in the Treaty of Fort Jackson. The battle was a response to the Creek Indians killing over 400 men, women, and children at Fort Mims. This battle occurred in the Mississippi Territory and pushed the Creek Indians out of the area.
