aug 18, 1920 - 19th Amendment

Description:

This amendment gave women the right to vote. The movement for women’s rights started all the way back in 1848 with the convention in Seneca Falls, led by prominent women suffragists like Elizabeth Cady Stanton. During these movements, the right to vote became one of their central goals. Other suffragists like Susan B. Anthony lobbied the government for the right to vote and after about a 70 year battle, they finally accomplished this with the 19th amendment.
