mar 3, 1820 - Missouri Compromise
Description:
This was a series of agreements passed by Henry Clay that was an agreement so that Missouri would come into the union. The problem that came up was that the northerners and southerners disagreed on whether or not it should be admitted as a slave state or a free state. In the end, Missouri was admitted to the union as a slave state and Maine was admitted to the union as a free state. They then drew the line and divided the Louisiana territory on the line 36°30’ and on the southern side, slavery was legal and on the northern side it was illegal.
