In recent years she has devoted her off-screen time to organizations like Amnesty International and Art of Elysium.
She recently returned from a humanitarian trip to Jordan where she visited Syrian refugees with the Syrian American Medical Society (SAMS).
The Los Angeles native has also helped raise awareness about domestic and sexual violence. Together with actors Gabourey Sidibe and Freida Pinto, she read a speech on behalf of sexual assault victim Emily Doe at Glamour's Women of the Year Awards in 2016.
