Description:

Plessy v. Ferguson is a Supreme Court case dealing with racial segregation in public facilities. Starting with the arrest of Homer Plessy, a mostly white man, who bought a train ticket and sat in the white part of the train even though he was part black. At first nobody mined because he looked just like everyone else in the car. Later when his identity was discovered he was ask to move to the American American car to which he refused. Because of the Plessy v. Ferguson case the concept of "Separate but equal" came about. This case decision allowed the continuing of racial segregation.
