Description:

Before the Missouri Compromise there was 22 states in the country, 11 free states and 11 slave states. As the new state Missouri entered as a slave state, the north had to divide a state to create a equal amount of votes in the congress. The Compromise also included laws like; Fugitive Slave Act, slave trading in Washington DC was abolished and California entering the union.
