In 1848 the movement for woman's rights to vote launched on a national level There were multiple leaders of the campaign like Susan B. Anthony, Alice Paul, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Lucy Stone and Ida B. Wells. It took 72 years. But finally on august 26 1920, the nineteenth amendment was declared ratified by congress which gave women the right to vote.
