Description:
The Indian Education Act established the Office of Indian Education and supplied funding for all grade levels of American Indian and Alaska Native education. Parents of these students were now able to form advisory boards for public and boarding schools involving their children. The OIE helped and currently continues to help integrate Native American students while also preserving their heritage.Added to timeline:
