jan 1, 1603 - Discovery of "Oil Blotting Sheets"
Description:
Aburatorigami was a Japanese oil-blotting sheet made out of a very thin sheet of paper. This paper was used to protect the gold from the extreme gold-beating technique, but rumours spread relating the sheet of paper to a bath. After the rumours took place, people tried blotting their skin with it and were surprised with how much oil was removed, oil build-up and pimples were no longer a problem.
