nov 9, 1937 - Kristallnacht

Description:

Nazi’s propaganda worked on the German’s as they conducted the attack on Jews later named the Kristallnacht. On the evening, a German mob went to destroy the synagogue, a religious place for the Jews, in order to get revenge on them, believing the Jews were the reason to Germany’s loss in World War II. The chaos caused 100 Jews death, many more injured. This event triggered more racial segregation actions or attacks against the Jews. Previously, Germans would have racial discrimination towards the Jews secretly, but since the Kristallnacht, racial discrimination became above the surface and acceptable in Germany. The effects of this event is even more unequal treatment towards the scapegoat of the loss of WWII. Jews were sent to concentration camps, which tortured them to work overtime, got hit and even killed in these camps. Many Jews became refugees in other neighboring nations, for instance the author of Annie’s diary.
