The Second Falklands War
In 2027 the Nicolas Maduro died which plunged Venezuela into further Chaos. Venezuela had no leaders and collapsed similar to Somalia. As a result, The United Nations declared Venezuela to be a failed State. Investors pulled out their money from South America as a result which crippled many South American Nations including Argentina. Protestors took the streets in Argentina as they demanded reform. The Argentinian Government feared that their Government would be overthrown like Venezuela. This led Argentina to make a deal with Kremlin Ivanoff of Russia to purchase russian military assets to boost and modernize the Argentinian Military in an effort to rally their people to liberate the malvinas. Many around the world, including Argentina, thought that The United Kingdom was weak compared to the superpower they once were and the worsening relations with their neighbors and citizens over ideological differences.
It took 6 days for the Argentinians to take the islands during the initial invasion. The citizens of Argentina celebrated across the country as the President announced that the Malvinas were liberated. The president also took time during his speech to talk to the citizens of Great Britain directly. He said that he was aware of their worsening conditions aby the hands of the British government and that they shouldn't send their sons and daughters to fight for islands that didn't have any relevance to them other than the fascist British government's pride. Despite this, the British announced that they were going to take back the islands. The british used one of their best aircraft carriers in order to handle the operation
The United Kingdom started their assault on the Falklands on september 22nd and forced a surrender out of Argentina on October 25th. As a result the Argentinian economy goes further in decline and the president of Argentina resigns. The new President of Argentina starts negotiations with Great Britain. Due to the Death toll of both wars being higher than the actual population of the islands, they settle that an election take place on the island to decide who will be governing the islands. The islands inhabitants elect to be under British control. After this Argentina goes into revolution. Meanwhile the united Kingdom did not get the response they were hoping for as many British were disillusioned with the war and the loss of life over the small islands and the Governments growing authoritarian attitude.
During the war there were 2,010 killed with 2,983 wounded.
