Description:

After Ao sundered the world of Abeir-Toril, splitting it into the two twin planets, Abeir and Toril, he gave Abeir to the few primordials who survived the Dawn War to rule. Those primordials were tired of war and were unable to overcome their dragon steeds when those rebelled against them, starting the conflict known as the War of Fang and Talon. After the war the few primordials who survived retreated into hiding and fell silent, and only a handful of dragon lords survived. Not long after, a mighty dragon called Gorloun founded the first dragon empire, and soon rival draconic realms sprang up thereafter, and the long Rule of Dragons began. In the lands of the eastern continent Shyr, the despotic primordial Karshimis also created his own nation.

The war began some time after the Primordials were granted the world of Abeir by Lord Ao. The dragons, tired of being the slaves of the Primordials, rose in rebellion against their masters, who were exhausted having lost most of their numbers in the Dawn War and the battle against the gods of Toril during the Tearfall. Unable to overcome their dragon steeds, the Primordials were quickly defeated and those who survived retreated into hiding and fell silent. Among the Primordials killed in the war were Nehushta and Petron.

After having won their battle against the Primordials, the dragons turned against each other, and attacked the dragons who remained loyal to the Primordials as well. When the war came to an end, most of Abeir was laid to waste and only a handful of dragon lords survived.

The dragons created the eye of Rorn artifact by using one of the eyes of Rorn, who lost it during the War of Fang and Talon.
