Description:
September 1st marked the start of the Blitzkrieg of Poland. Germany attacked from the East side, using the Blitzkrieg tactic. They used fast moving troops to disorganized Polish soldiers.
Hitler claimed the invasion of Poland was a defensive action, to protect Germany.
This was significant, because it was the first time Germany used the blitzkrieg method, and it proved to be very successful.
