Description:

The Soviet Union was born.
It started by trying to be a private-public hybrid economy, with farms being private and investments, industry, finance, and foreign trade being managed by the state.
A period of growth kicked in, but when the Depression struck, the view of the economic policies of the party changed.
The depression reinforced an economic turn inward, which led the government to force peasants into collective farming under quasi-government control (which meant selling crops to the government at artificially low prices, providing the industry with cheap food & raw materials).
For this reasons millions of farmers left and became workers in the city.
In an attempt to push towards industrialization in 1928 the government began taxing consumption while favoring heavy industry (which had a great time).
