3 effects were:
1.) King Louis XVI was executed by the guillotine.
2.) Dechristianization and secularization occurred. A new republican calendar was created based off the "state of vegatation"
3.) A new, more conservative republican constitution was written.
--Important in it's century : The French Revolution was the most important event of the 1700's because it marked one of the first violent protests in favor of democracy and a republic for the people. It also sparked the desire for a more secularized lifestyle in a time of a society based a lot on religion. Using violence to get political rights is a reoccurring theme in European history, and that is largely influenced by the French Revolution
