jan 1, 1688 - King William's War of North America
Description:
King William's War, which lasted between 1688 and 1697, was fought between the French and British colonist. Due to little support from their mother countries, the colonist enlisted the help of local indian tribes, the French sought the help of the Wabanaki Confederacy and the English were helped by the Iroquois Confederacy. Major battles of this war were fought in Canada, Maine, New York, Massachusetts, and other New England Colonies. The War ended with the Treaty of Rijswijk although the boundaries between New England and New France remained as they were before the War.
