Description:

This was a conflict that took place in the New England states between the colonist who settled there and hostile indian tribes from 1675 to 1678. The conflict started when local indian tribes started to feel threatened by English expansion and devised an extermination plan. The indians began burning towns as well as imprisoning, torturing, and murdering colonist. The indian forces were greatly weakened by the capturing and execution of Chief Metacom, also known as King Philip, and the war eventually drew to a close.
