Description:

Okoth was the first of the sarrukh empires of old, founded in −35,000 DR. The Okothians created many serpent and reptilian races, such as the lizardfolk.

The sarrukh establish the kingdom of Okoth, south of modern-day Mulhorand. Within a hundred years, most of Faerûn is theirs.

Okoth, also known as the Empire of the Shimmering Sun, was the oldest known civilization of Faerûn, and the first empire of the sarrukh, one of the fabled Creator Races.

Sar'Rukoth was an island in Okoth containing a number of crumbling ruins and new, unlit domes. Each dome contained one of eighteen sterile sarrukh and all of that sarrukh's servants, protectors, advisers, and entertainers, most of them being yuan-ti. They were connected by a system of tunnels that passed through various salt lakes, caves, and sarrukh tombs.
