Jeff Beck's San Antonio fans got a special appearance with their tickets Sunday night when Johnny Depp jumped on stage for a jam session at the Tobin Center.
The A-list actor joined the two-time Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee to play songs like "Isolation," according to fan photos shared by the venue's official Instagram account. The Tobin Center said online that the song was one of the moments from the night "that take your breath away."
Depp's appearance was not something the Tobin Center team was planning on. The venue was only made aware of his pop up hours before the concert, according to an email sent to mySA.com.
Beck and Depp have joined forces for prior stops in Kansas City and Tulsa, Oklahoma.
They also collaborated on music for a campaign by Dior, starring Depp, for the fragrance "Sauvage." The video, which featured a Native American dancer, was pulled after it came under fire for cultural appropriation. People reported the music was inspired by "Rumble," a track by the late Link Wray, who was a Shawnee guitarist.
