The touch screen is ubiquitous in modern devices, and was invented several decades before the mouse, however early touch screens were frequently imprecise and either too sensitive, picking up a finger that had not actually touched the screen or not sensitive enough leading to frustration and not until the late 80s were many of the issues worked out. Touch screens in modern applications allows the user to easily interact with the machine, as manipulating devices using the hands is natural and intuitive for people.Added to timeline:
