jan 1, 1922 - Standardization of windshield wipers
Description:
After observing vehicles driving with the windscreens down during a snowstorm so the driver could see, Mary Anderson set off to design a system to keep the windshield clear of debris that would obstruct the view of the driver. Anderson's invention was the first successful attempt at creating a windshield wiper, and the auto industry began to look towards standardized equipment to increase driver safety.
