Description:
The 18th amendment was passed in 1919 and it officially prohibited alcohol in the United States. It stated that the sale, transport, and production of alcohol was illegal, however it did not say that you couldn’t own/consume alcohol. This amendment was neglected by the people, which eventually led to the repeal of the 18th amendment, however some states decided to continue to practice temperance by having statewide laws.
