Theodore Roosevelt was elected 26th president of the United States after the assassination of William McKinley. He was known as the great “Trust Buster” because of his persistent attempt to break up industrial combinations under the Sherman Antitrust act. Roosevelt also won a nobel peace prize for ending the Russo-Japanese war. He also began the construction for the Panama Canal. He also came up with the Square Deal in order to help the social and political conflicts.
