The series of battles at Lexington and Concord was the start of the American Revolutionary War. The colonists were fighting for independence and they eventually marched into Lexington and attacked the British troops. There was a lot of tension between the 13 American colonies and the British authorities, and eventually it caused hundreds of British troops to march into Concord to attack the colonists. The colonists won, so it gave them confidence and the belief that they can win more battles against the British.
