Many people got on a huge ship called the Mayflower in order to seek religious freedom and get away from England. The Mayflower ship had very harsh conditions, and most of the pilgrims didn’t their first winter in America. The Native people helped them survive and at the end of the next summer, the Plymouth colonists celebrated a feast, that would later be called Thanksgiving.
