jan 1, 500 BC - Ancient Western Perspective
Description:
Anaximander is credited to be one of the earliest minds that pursued to understand the origin and development of life in a manner similar to the contemporary view of evolution, as he believed that life had the capability to transform from one form to another. Another ancient Greek philosopher, Empedocles, proposed a perspective that followed the same line of thought to that of Darwin’s theory of natural selection; as he believed that the mechanism of natural selection was responsible for the contemporary forms observable in modern organisms.
