jan 1, 1758 - Linnaean Classification

Description:

Carolus Linnaeus was the first to establish a set of rules that would be applied to the classification of organisms. The Linnaean Classification system would prove beneficial in not only the connections between extant organisms, but would also lay the foundation for practices that would better illustrate the mechanisms of evolution such as phylogenetics and cladistics.
