Description:
Founded by the Virginia Company, Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in present day America. The first 2 years of Jamestown were rocky as the people battled disease, lack of food, and conflict with the Natives. Eventually more settlers came and the settlement began to thrive. Attributing to this grow and success was the exportation tobacco. Jamestown was the capital of The Virginia Colony until 1699.Added to timeline:
