7h 15min, jan 16, 1933 y - Hitler named chancellor

Description:

In 1933, Hitler became chancellor as Conservative leaders advised President to do so, planning to control and use Hitler for their purposes. However, Hitler had his own plans and the Conservative leaders would soon realize they made a huge mistake. With the name of the chancellor given, Hitler officially came to power, thus starting his career as a cruel leader. Once he had legal power, Hitler began forming a totalitarian state, as he arrested his enemies and banned other political parties. He also formed the SS, a black-uniformed unit which stayed loyal to Hitler, carrying out all his brutal orders. Arresting and killing hundreds of people, the unit eliminated most of Hitler’s enemies. Such action horrified the Germans, resulting most of them in total obedience to Hitler’s upcoming actions. The Nazis also established new laws banning strikes and labor unions, controlling the economy of the nation. On the bright side, Hitler provided working opportunities for Germans, employing 4.5 million people. However, naming him as chancellor allowed the Nazi party and Hitler to outmaneuvered their opponents while consolidating their power. This was also the first step towards the formation of Nazi Germany, and, eventually, the Holocaust and World War II.
