Argued Feb 26th, 2007 and Decided April 30th, 2007, Scott v. Harris took place after Deputy Timothy Scott ended a high-speed pursuit of a suspects car by nudging the rear bumper of the respondents vehicle which caused the respondents vehicle to crash and the respondent rendered a quadriplegic. The Eleventh Circuit decided that Scott's actions were constituted as "deadly force" under Tennessee v. Garner. As such the Respondent's constitutional rights were violated.
