Filed July 17, 1997 Terry Allen had an altercation with his wife, took several guns and ammunition, and went to a Muskogee residence of his sister. The altercation was reported and officers were warned about what car Allen was driving and also was armed. Allen had an outstanding warrant from 1983 in which he impersonated a officer. Lt. Smith, one of the officers who was warned of the warrant, was warned by dispatch of a 911 called made after Allen was threatening suicide. Lt. Smith arrived at the scene and told Allen to drop the gun. Officers Bentley McDonald and Bryan Farmer arrive on the scene and approach Allen. Allen reacts by pointing his gun at officer farmer who ducks out of the way. Shots are exchanged and Allen is killed.
