TV dinners were very popular during the 1950s because the 50s were about convenience. the reason for this is because women were working outside the home a lot more than they did in previous years. So there were a lot less home-cooked meals and these offered a good alternative. The TV dinner came in packets or pouches. There was even soups in dry or liquid form.
