Description:

Aimed to protect White labor from the competition with the cheap Chinese labor by discouraging the flood of Chinese immigrants into certain industries like manufacturing in factories.

The act imposed two dollars and fifty cents a month on all “Mongolian races”
This act also taxed employers who hired Mongolians and Mongolian females.
