jan 1, 2099 - the defeat of charles ii

Description:

charles ii loses nearly all his land south of sarasae, save for canter, to the caverians in a military campaign by cavere supremacists (royalist extremists trying to bring back a cavere rule (not unlike the helanists later on, but with absolutely no love or support form the caledoans, they really just want all the land their empire used to have back))
sarasae city was, technically, under caverian rule, but charles refused to surrnder the castle and kept fighting back everytime they tried to invade
they never managed to remove him, neither through starvation or battle
the highlanders, though displeased with charles, hated the caverians more, and they did everything in their power to help him out
