Before the national anthem was to be played at a San Francisco 49ers game, quarterback Colin Kaepernick and a few of his teammates decided to take a knee to protest racial inequality and police brutality in America. Kaepernick’s actions received strong backlash from many fans and even from former President, Donald Trump. The negative attention Kapernick received contributed to Kapernick losing his job as an NFL quarterback. No NFL team wanted to sign a quarterback who had made such a controversial protest.
