The Turner Thesis, composed by historian Frederick Jackson Turner, proposed the idea that settlers must be adaptable and innovative as they moved westward and these characters would soon shape American Society. But Turner had not mentioned the hardships of the west when writing the thesis. Settlers did not realize that their lives would become completely different.
