jan 1, 1884 - Railroads
Description:
Railroads in the XIX meant economic development and were one of the main goals for president Porfirio Diaz. In 1830 the first contracts were signed, however, due to political unrest and lack of capital, the development of the railroads was slow. It would not have been until 1870 that the railroad would operate from Mexico City to a major port in Veracruz. By 1910, Mexico had 10,000 miles of tracks.
